APC Hit With Fresh Defections As 9 Resign In Osun

More defections have continued to take a toll on the All Progressives Congress (APC) as nine of its executives have resigned from the ruling party in Osun State.

According to reports, the defecting officials dumped the APC for the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the state on Monday.

The defectors submitted their resignation in a letter dated August 6, 2018, and addressed to the chairman of the party in the state.

The defectors are Azeez Adesiji, deputy state chairman; Tajudeen Agbeti, ex officio; Ademola Bamidele, state auditor; Rasheed Bakare, Assistant General Secretary; and Morakinyo Akintola; state PRO.

Others include Wale Adunola, ex-officio; Bakare Idayat, assistant welfare secretary; Ogundare Afolabi; assistant PRO and Sikiru Kareem; assistant treasurer.

Meanwhile, THE WHISTLER recalls that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yusuf Lasun, recently predicted that the APC in Osun state may soon collapse.

Lasun, who had contested in APC’s governorship primary election in the state, alleged that the party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, was destroying the APC in Osun by his alleged interference with the party’s activities in the state.
