APC Insists On Indirect Primary For Ondo Governorship Primary Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has insisted on the indirect mode of primary election for the forth coming governorship election in Ondo State.

Chairman of the Governorship Election Committee and Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, stated this on Friday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, after the inauguration of both the election and appeal committees.

The inauguration of the committees was conducted by the Mai Mala Buni Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extra-ordinary National Convention Planning Committee.

Bello said the task before his committee was to go and conduct a free, fair and credible primary election, adding that aspirants would be given level playing ground.

He said the party would produce a governorship candidate at the polls that would be accepted by all.

Asked whether the APC will win the general election, Bello said he was optimistic of the party’s victory at the polls.

Recall that eleven of the 12 governorship aspirants had some days ago kicked against the indirect mode of primary.

The only aspirant who is favourably disposed to the indirect mode is the incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

The primary is slated for Monday 20th July.
