APC Loses Ex-Deputy Gov, 14 Others To PDP In Gombe

A former deputy governor and fourteen other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State.

John Yoriyo, who deputized ex-governor Danjuma Goje from 2003 to 2011, dumped the APC alongside fourteen other chieftains of the party and their supporters.

“It is obvious that the APC has failed in Nigeria, especially in the area of security,” Yoriyo reportedly told thousands of PDP supporters on Saturday in Gombe.

“I was in the APC and I have seen everything that is happening, nothing encouraging. PDP is the best place to be.

“There was nothing like democracy under APC in Gombe. Nobody knows what is happening, we were ignorant, we are just being ruled,” he said.

The defectors were received by the chairman of the PDP in the tate, Rtd Major General Abnor Kwaskebe.

He said that they had defected to the APC ahead of the 2015 general elections.

“We are glad to receive those that left the party, thinking that the PDP had collapsed. They are now coming back home,” he said.
