Appeal Court Bars CCT From Trying CJN Onnoghen

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has barred the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, from trying the Chief Justice of Nigeria, NJC, Walter Onnoghen.

The interim order was granted by a three-man panel of the court pending ruling on Onnoghen’s application for stay of proceedings.

The presiding Justice Abdul Aboki delivering the judgement said, “this ruling is adjourned till Wednesday January 30, the tribunal is ordered to stay all proceedings”.

Onnoghen is facing a six counts of false assets declaration filed by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB.
