Apple Beats Google, Coca-Cola To Win 2016 Most Valuable Brand

American multinational technology company, Apple Inc. has been named the most valuable brand in the 17th annual Interbrand survey of global brand value.

The Cupertino, California company boasts a brand value of $178 million, hanging on to 1st place ahead of Google (2), Coca-Cola (3) and Microsoft (4) and Toyota (5).

On Interbrand’s Top Growing Brands for 2016, Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook finished top with 48%, with Amazon (33 %), LEGO (25 %), Nissan (22 %), and Adobe (21 %) completing the top 5.

The report noted that brands from the automotive and technology sectors took an impressive 29 positions from the top 100, with Mercedes ranked 9th in the top 10.

“It’s clear the best global brands are not just weathering change, but driving it,” Jez Frampton, Interbrand’s Global Chief Executive Officer said.

“They understand their Anatomy of Growth is complex, unique and personal; they look inward and outward, expand into new markets, and create better experiences to grow their brands and businesses,” he concluded.

Others in the automobile and technology sector are BMW (11), Honda (21), Ford (33), Hyundai (35), Audi (38), Volkswagen (40), Nissan (43), Porsche (50), Kia (69), Land Rover (78), MINI (88), and Tesla (100).

The top 100 brand that made Interbrand’s’ list have a combined value of $1,796,384 million.
