Apple Sell Record 13 Million iPhones in 3 Days

This was contained in a statement by the CEO of Apple, Tim cook, who also revealed that the new iPhones will be available in more than 40 additional countries beginning October 9 including Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Taiwan.

“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,”

“Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”

The tally represents a record for Apple, which sold 10 million iPhones over the same period a year ago when the previous models hit stores.

The weekend also marked the debut of Apple’s upgrade program, which allows users to receive a new iPhone each year for monthly installments starting at $32, regardless of their carrier, which prompted many customers to participate in the program.

It also brought the new iPhones to a dozen countries and territories. Besides China, the locations included the US, the UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore and France.

The new iPhones will be available in over 130 countries by the end of the year.

This weekend’s sales continue the momentum for Apple’s smartphones, which contribute roughly two-thirds to the company’s revenue.
