Apple To Reveal Date For Next iPhone

According to invites sent to the press, the company will be holding its biggest event of the year early next month.

Apple has held events in September each of the last five years. They are the highlight of the company’s year; as well as showing off the new iPhone, it often uses the attention to launch other products.

The venue, the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, is the same location where Apple has hosted its last few product launches.

This year’s iPhone launch will be doubly important, as it represents the first major new handset to be revealed since sales of the iPhones started sliding.

Apple has sold more than 1 billion iPhones – its biggest product by far – since Steve Jobs launched the original iPhone in 2007.

The phone sales have slumped during the previous two quarters, though Apple still sold 40.4 million in the most recent quarter.

As such, the company’s CEO Tim Cook will have to pull off something unexpected and deliver more than the rumors suggest, in other to get users more excited again.

The company is also expected to unveil the second version of the Apple Watch.

Apple will be livestreaming the event on its special page, as it has most years.
