Army Announces ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II’ In Zamfara

The Nigerian Military has announced the commencement of “Operation Harbin Kunama II” in Zamfara State in December.

Brig. Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali (retd), the Minister of Defence, made the announcement in Gusau during the inauguration of some recently completed projects at the 207 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force.

Operation Harbin Kunama II, according to Dan-Ali, is part of Army’s spirited efforts to end activities of insurgents in the North-East region.

The Minister, who was in the company of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, and the Officer Commanding Special Operations Command of the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Ismaila Kaita, assured that the Military will end terrorism in the country “so that people can continue to live in peace and enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

The initial phase of the exercise codenamed “Operation Harbin Kunama I” was launched in the state in July, 2016, by President Muhammadu Buhari .
