The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has insisted that its indefinite strike action was still on.

ASUU disclosed this in a pinned tweet on Tuesday.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities had announced an indefinite strike action on March 23.

The union said the decision was because the federal government failed to implement the 2019 Memorandum of Action.

It also said the federal government refused to review its decision on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System(IPPIS), which intrudes on university autonomy.

But the federal government had maintained that IPPIS was in line with global best practices, and a tool for curbing corruption in the system.
