Atiku Most Talked About Nigerian Politician In 2018, Says Google
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has emerged the only Nigerian politician on Google’s annual list of top trending searches by Nigerians in 2018.
The list revealed what topic or personalities Nigerians had keen interest in based on their use of the search engine in the course of 2018.
According to data released by Google on Wednesday, Atiku, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emerged 7th position in the list of top ten most searched personalities by Nigerians in the last one year.
The Wazirin Adamawa came after footballer Alexis Sanchez who topped the list, followed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Meghan Markle, Stan Lee and Philippe Coutinho.
The search engine company also revealed that the Osun elections, Ekiti elections and the PDP Presidential Primaries were the top three events that Nigerians searched for in the year.
“This year’s most searched news event was the Osun elections, which gripped national attention in September due to alleged incidents of voter intimidation and interference,” a statement by the company read.
