Atiku Names Saraki Campaign DG As Wike, Tambuwal, Others Get Appointments

Former Vice President and 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has appointed Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, as the Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Organization.

Saraki’s appointment as head of the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organization was announced on Tuesday by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kola Ologgbondiyan.

The Senate President, who was among the eleven PDP presidential aspirants defeated by Atiku at the party’s primary poll, takes over from Otunba Gbenga Daniel who previously occupied that position.

Atiku has equally appointed different zonal coordinators for the six geopolitical zones of the country to lead his campaign in those regions.

Those appointed zonal coordinators are: Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal (North-west); Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi (South-East); Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo (North-east); Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike (South-south); Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom (North-central) and former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose would lead South-west push.

Also appointed into the former Vice President’s presidential campaign council is Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom, who was named Chairman of Fund Raising Committee, while Alhaji Taminu Turaki would head the legal committee.
