THE WHISTLER reports that the best part of reactions to the development on Twitter indicate that Atiku’s supporters are elated by his choice of Mr Obi as his running mate for the 2019 election.

The former Vice President had emerged as the flag bearer of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the keenly contested presidential primary election of the party that held on October 7 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Atiku consequently secured the endorsement of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday following the intervention of some religious leaders, socio-political groups and influential South West politicians.

The duo of Atiku and Obi are expected to contend the 2019 presidency with President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, professor Yemi Osinbaji.

President Buhari had recently emerged unopposed as the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
