Attack On NDA ‘Highly Unacceptable,’ Says NHRC Executive Secretary

He consoled with the military in a statement issued on Wednesday by NHRC Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Fatimah Agwai Mohammed.

The ES described the development as an affront on the military, adding that it was “highly unacceptable”.

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that NDA had on Tuesday confirmed that two military personnel were murdered during an invasion of its barracks by an armed group.

The NDA further stated that an officer was abducted during the attack on the barracks located in Afaka, Kaduna State.

Ojukwu urged Nigerians not to withdraw their support for the security agencies while also urging the military authorities to go after the perpetrators.

“We must all rise up and support the government to put an end to this menace of insecurity.

“The invasion of the institution with high international repute where very intelligent military officers are produced is most unfortunate, unexpected and condemnable” he said.

He expressed hope that the abducted officer will be rescued.

“He commiserates with the families of the gallant men of the Nigerian military Lieutenant Wulah and Flight LieuSUPREMEOkoronkwo, saying they have paid the Supreme price of serving their fatherland and their sacrifice will not go in vain,” the statement partly read.
