Attackers Of Kaduna-Abuja Train Didn’t Use ‘Aggressive Weapons’ – Police

The Kaduna State Police Command has denied that a train en route Abuja from Kaduna was attacked by gunmen on Monday.

The police said some miscreants only threw stones at the moving train, contrary to reports that it was a gun attack.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported an account given by an eyewitness who said they were attacked by bandits who shot sporadically at the bullet proof glass covering the driver side.

A photo of the incident posted on social media also showed a hole on one of the windows of the train believed to have resulted from the attack.

But speaking to NAN on Monday night, the Kaduna Police Command spokesperson, ASP Mohammed Jalige, said the incident which happened around Rijana village, was not an aggressive attack.

“So far no suspect has been arrested but our men have been deployed in the area to trail the suspects,” Jalige said.
