AU Chairperson In Self-isolation After Staff Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The Chairperson of the African Union (AU),Moussa Faki Mahamat, said he had gone into self- isolation after one of his staff tested positive for Coronavirus.

The AU Chairperson made this known in a tweet on Friday.

He also said that some of his aides had been quarantine, as part of the measures to prevent further spread.

As of the time of this report, there were 3426 confirmed cases of covid-19 in 46 Africa countries; with 94 deaths, according to AU figures.

The AU is a continental union made up of 55 member states in the continent of Africa.
