Aubameyang Denies Transfer Rumour, Says ‘I Am Still Committed To Arsenal’

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has dismissed recent media reports linking him with a move out of Arsenal during the January transfer window.

Spanish newspapers had alleged he was considering a deal at Real Madrid where the club was set to make a player-plus cash deal to the tune of £70million.

Reacting to the rumours, Aubameyang in his programme notes ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup third round encounter at home to Leeds United said: “I am the Arsenal captain. I love this club. I am committed to it and desperate to bring it back to the top, where it belongs.”

“I would also like to react to some of the rumours that are going around about me in the media.

“People like making up stories and they should focus on what’s happening on the pitch.

“They talk too much and it does my head in! I am the Arsenal captain. I love this club.

Similarly, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has said that Aubameyang’s statement on his commitment to Arsenal should end media speculation on the future of the 30years old Gabon international, adding that the striker will not be sold this month.

Arteta further expressed delight over the striker’s attitude since he took over the role as head coach.

“His commitment since the day I walked through that door has been phenomenal,” he said.

“The work that he’s put in, his attitude around the place with the players.
