Avoid Sychophants, Abia Speaker Tells Gov Ikpeazu

Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has assured the Governor of the State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, of the support and cooperation of members of the House of Assembly, but warned the governor to beware of Sychophants.

The Speaker stated this while giving his goodwill message at the 56th birthday celebration of the governor held on Monday at the Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.

The speaker also assured Dr Ikpeazu of the support and cooperation of members of the House of Assembly, saying the governor could afford to sleep with his two eyes closed.

“You need to remain focused. Do not allow anyone to distract you. Avoid sycophants. Let your focus remain on service delivery across the length and breadth of Abia State”, the Speaker stated.

Continuing, he said, “Be sure that this House (of Assembly) as constituted by law will always support you one hundred percent in all that you intend to achieve for the good people of Abia State. You will certainly not find us wanting“.

The speaker also went ahead to thank God for sparing the governor’s life by restoring to him good health when he had his health challenges.

While thanking the wife of the governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu for organising the deserving birthday celebration, the speaker wished the governor long life, good health and prosperity.
