Baba Do Something, Your Fulani People Are Killing Yorubas – Media Practitioner Writes Buhari

A media practitioner, Alhaja Adeola Agoro JP, has written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over alleged attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the South-West.

Agoro, in the open letter posted on her Facebook page, on Friday, asked Buhari to immediately do something about the menace, adding that Nigerians in Ekiti, Osun,  Ondo, Oyo and Kwara cannot travel by road again.

According to her, Yoruba’s are now being killed by the same Fulani people they gave lands to.

She alleged that the Fulani men are “escaped Boko Haram people who ran when the heat became too hot for them in Sambisa Forest.”

“They’re now using kidnapping as an alternative trade. And oh! They’re very wicked and merciless,” she said.

She further urged Buhari to speak to them, adding that he should do a broadcast that he will “enter all our forests with armoured vans, since choppers cannot do it.

“Tell them that they will shoot them at sight,” she added.

Dear President Buhari,

Good morning Baba. Hope you’re not too tired after yesterday’s event at the Moshood Abiola Stadium. Epele sir.

Baba, we the Yorubas don’t give problem everywhere we go. At least, you have seen that in your sons, Kayode Fayemi and Babatunde Fasola. And so many years of your friendship with Pastor Tunde Bakare would have told you that we are not only friendly, but peaceful. Look at how Aunty Abike Dabiri-Erewa is treating you like her real father. That is the Yoruba culture for you.

We were brought up to believe that everybody is daddy, mummy, aunty and friends. We love people and we don’t harm them. Even though we sometime yinmu behind some people’s backs, but we’re still very good.

Now, these same our people are being killed by your Fulani peoplewho we gave land to. They have abandoned farming and taken arms up against we, their hosts. They know all our forests more than us and they’re doing us bad in our own land.

I suspect that some of these Fulani men are escaped Boko Haram people who ran when the heat became too hot for them in Sambisa Forest. They’re now using kidnapping as an alternative trade. And oh! They’re very wicked and merciless.

Baba dear, you speak their language. Please help us to do a broadcast that you will enter all our forests with armoured vans, since choppers cannot do it. Tell them that they will shoot them at sight.

Tell them that commerce is doing well under your government and that there are funds for new starters. Tell them you can absorb them into the community of sane people again so they can start afresh after dropping their arms. Tell them that they’re crazy to be staying in the forest and doing all these bad things.

Baba, I can help you do the jingles. Just tell Mallam Garba Shehu and Brother Femi that I’m coming around and that they should ensure I see you.

Baba, some of these people around you fear you and cannot talk because they take salaries. Some of us won’t take kobo, we just want to be where you are so we can write scripts together and record you.

Baba, please do something about this. I’ll do a letter requesting to see you with some other youths. Baba please see us.

We Yorubas cannot travel to our villages again for fear of the Fulani men waiting to slaughter us. Baba e jo, e gba waaaa o. E Don dey too much.

Baba I’m waiting for my invitee.

Thank you so much dear Baba. Fine Baba. Gentle Baba.

My name is Alhaja Adeola Agoro JP on behalf of those of us in Ekiti, Osun,  Ondo, Oyo and Kwara who cannot travel by road again.
