Bailout Funds: Kogi Blames APC Over Delay Of Funds

In a statement issued on behalf of Governor Idria Wada, the state Communication Manager, Prank Shuaibu, blamed the APC gubernatorial candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu, and his running mate, Chief James Faleke, of allegedly speaking at a campaign rally where they revealed that they had prevailed on President Buhari not to release the bailout fund to the state.

Wada, who described the said statement as anti- masses, added that it was capable of generating ill feelings against the ruling party in the state.

The statement read in part: “What kind of desperation would make a man to callously and viciously wage war against the release of resources meant for the people of his state.

“The Kogi State Government is of the firm belief that the bailout is only a loan and not a presidential benevolence.

“This matter is not a personality contest between Governor Idris Wada and the APC-led government. It is strictly about constitutionalism and the rule of law.

“For one, the President has consistently stressed the role of morality in governance and there can be nothing more immoral than the willful deprivation of the right of our civil servants, whose allowances and emoluments have remained unpaid owing to the economic downturn.”

The statement called on Buhari to urgently address the release of the said funds so that the state could meet its obligations to its workers.
