Abducted students of the College of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Bakura, Zamfara State, have pleaded with the government to come to their rescue as their lives are being threatened by bandits who kidnapped them on Sunday.

The victims were sighted in a 30-second video urging the government to yield to the demand of the kidnappers and secure their release.

“We are the students of the College of Agriculture and Animal Science, Bakura that were abducted by the bandits.

“You can see the conditions we are in. They are threatening to kill us if the government does not produce the ransom in 24 hours. The bandits even took us to see the dead bodies of those they have killed,” one of the victims spoke in Hausa language.

In the video obtained by Channels TV, some of the students were seen squatting and blindfolded as they all sat on the ground, surrounded by men wielding weapons.

Speaking on the issue, the state’s Commissioner for Information Ibrahim Dosara, told the medium that a joint team of security agencies had begun a search and rescue operation to secure their release.
