Bauchi, Kebbi Direct Civil Servants To Work From Home

The Bauchi State government has directed civil servants in the state from grade-level 12 and below to start working from home beginning from today, Wednesday, March 25.

The Bauchi government made the announcement through the state’s Head of Civil Service, Abubakar Ma’aji, in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the country.

Ma’aji directed the civil servants to work from home until further notice, while other workers on GL 13 and above are to continue with their normal duties.

The state government, however, exempted health and security personnel and other essential staff from the stay-at-home directive.

The move is coming after the governor of the state, Bala Mohammed, tested positive for COVID-19

“We urge citizens to observe necessary precautions during interaction; there should be minimal contact among people,” he said.

“The civil servants mentioned below are to remain and work from their homes with effect from Wednesday, 25th March, 2020. This is for an initial two weeks.

“This directive, however, does not include those on essential services such as health personnel, financial institutions, internal revenue collection, water board, media outfits, electricity supply, security and emergency service, etc.” said Sani-Dango.
