Bayelsa: APC Continues Campaign Despite Disqualification of Deputy Guber Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) seems unperturbed with Tuesday’s judgment that disqualified the party’s deputy governorship candidate for Bayelsa State, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo.

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday disqualified Degi-Eremienyo over false information in his CF0001 form submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to vie for the November 16 poll.

According to Justice Inyang Ekwo while delivering the judgement, he found no nexus in the name on his school leaving certificate, first degree (BA), Masters and the affidavits he swore to the correct his name.

The WHISTLER recalls that trouble started for the APC when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sued the party governorship candidate, David Lyon, Degi-Eremienyo and INEC, seeking the disqualification of Degi-Eremienyo.

But the party seems not bothered by the disqualification as it carried out a mega rally in Yenagoa, the state capital on Tuesday.

The rally had in attendance, the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo Agege, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, state governors of the party and other party chieftains.

Speaking during the rally, Oshiomhole called on the citizens of the state to vote for the party, it was the only party that can guarantee dividends of democracy for them.

According to him, the PDP has nothing to offer, as the party has been known for looting and not delivering on campaign promises.

He further called on them to vote massively on November 16 for the party’s governorship candidate, David Lyon and his “deputy”.

Highpoint of the rally was the presentation of the APC flag to Lyon and his deputy.
