Benjamin Netanyahu Accuses Iran Of Financing Hamas’ Attacks Against Israel

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday, told Germany’s Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, that the Iranian government is allegedly financing and supplying weapons to Hamas to attack his country.

Netanyahu’s spokesperson to the Arab media, Ofir Gendelman, tweeted about this.

Netanyahu alleged that the fire power of Hamas was receiving huge support from Iran.

“The party behind many acts of aggression against us is Iran. It not only supports and finances the Islamic Jihad organization in Gaza, it also supplies Hamas and Hezbollah with weapons. It provides terrorist organizations with infrastructure.

“Several days ago, Iran launched an armed drone into Israel from Iraq or Syria, where our forces intercepted it on the Israeli-Jordanian border. This says everything about the true sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East and the world, which is Iran,” Netanyahu told the German counterpart.

The conflict between the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and Hamas is still on despite efforts by the United Nations toward an immediate ceasefire.

On his part, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in a telephone conversation with the secretary-general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Beirut, Ziyad al-Nakhalah, had promised to support the resistance against Israel.

As quoted on the Iranian government’s website, Zarif described “the Palestinian people’s patience and resistance as a source of pride, and expressed Iran’s preparedness to support the Palestinian people and resistance.”

Aljazeera reports that “at least 230 Palestinians, including 65 children, have been killed in 11 days of violence” while 12 people have died in Israel.

The Israeli government had also accused Hamas of using Palestinians as human shields.
