Benue Police Command Nabs Man Who Allegedly Impregnated 10-Year-Old Girl

The Benue State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old man, Terna Taga, alleged to have raped and impregnated a 10 – year –old girl.

According to reports, Taga defiled the minor at an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Benue.

Recall that the victim was a couple of days delivered of a baby girl through caesarean section, CS.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene who confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Makurdi, the Benue State capital said the suspect is in custody for further investigations.

“The command will decide on the next line of action after full interrogation and investigation into the case,” Anene said.

The news of the minor’s pregnancy broke on Sunday when she was dumped in a General Hospital, Makurdi by an unknown person.

The minor was allegedly taken to Foundation Memorial Hospital, Makurdi by an activist where she delivered a baby girl through CS in the early hours of August 5.
