Benue TV’s New Logo Is Disappointing, Graphic Designers React

The President, Benue Printers Association, Lion Comrade Sunday Musa, has berated the choice and adoption of the New Benue TV logo, which was unveiled on Thursday.

The state commissioner for information, Ngunan Addingi and Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Terver Akase, had on Thursday unveiled the “best designed” logo out of about 500 entries.

Nathaniel Atom, whose logo, was adjudged the best of all the entries, was announced winner.

Recall that Governor Samuel Ortom, had on April 20th, promised to reward anyone who designed the best logo for Benue Television with a cash prize of N250,000.

The move, according to the government, was part of the Ortom administration’s policy to encourage creativity among the youths in the state.

But reacting to the choice of the new logo, in a post on Facebook on Friday, Sunday Musa, who is also the Secretary, Benue Graphic Designers Association, said “His Excellency, Gov. Samuel Ortom, Benue Graphic Designers that I know can do far better than this.”

Commenting on Sunday Musa’s post Godwin Tor wrote “Haba! Poor eyes for design. It’s a pitty”

Mathew Tor also wrote “poor eyes for design or predetermined design.
That design was settled for even before the open bidding!”

Reacting further, a blogger, Ameh Comrade Godwin wrote “Forget this tribal colour concept. You don’t need those rainbow colours to pass your message. That logo is poor. Arrangement is zero. Plenty fonts on a simple logo. Score. -0/10.”
