Leader of the Afenifere Yoruba socio-political organization, Ayo Adebanjo, has thrashed Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for comparing Nigeria to the United States at the Biafra conference which held in Abuja on Thursday.

Osinbajo had, during the conference, said Americans have been able to live in unity in spite of their diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Acting President had asked Nigerians to tow the path of Americans by living in peaceful co-existence.

But Adebanjo, in his presentation, said the Acting President gave a wrong synopsis of living in unity.

“The question of Biafra is not about separation; the question is how we want to leave in peace on agreed terms. Anybody opposed to restructuring is an enemy of Nigeria,” Adebanjo said.

“‎The acting president gave a wrong synopsis of living together, he cited America. Americans sat together to discuss their existence‎,” he said.

Meanwhile, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, who also spoke at the conference, urged the Federal Government to engage Biafra agitators in a peaceful dialogue to remain in Nigeria.
