Biden Vows To Hunt Down Killers Of 12 US Soldiers As 60 Killed In Kabul

The United States president, Joe Biden, while reacting to the terror attack at Hamid Karzai International Airport, Kabul in Afghanistan, blamed the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant-Khorasan(ISIS-K) for the tragedy.

The explosion left over 72 persons dead.

The United States Central Command confirmed that 12 of its officers died from the attacks while 15 others sustained injuries.

The Afghanistan Ministry of Health told CNN that 60 people were killed from the blast while 140 persons were injured.

In a national address on Thursday, Biden vowed to deal with ISIS-K and any other group that threatened America’s interest.

“An attack by a group known as ISIS-K took the lives of US service members standing guard at the airport and wounded several others seriously . They also wounded a number of civilians and civilians were killed as well.

“These American servicemen who gave their lives were heroes, they engaged in selfless mission to save the lives of others.

“For those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm , know this, we will not forgive, we will not forget , we will hunt you down and make you pay. I will defend our interest and our people with every measure at my command,” he said.

He condoled with the families of the soldiers, adding “My heart aches…”

He also told journalists that it was within the self-interest of the Taliban to ensure that those trying to leave the country were not attacked.

The Taliban toppled the US-backed Afghan government after its military and government capitulated.
