Billy Graham: World’s Influential Evangelist Dies At 99

American Christian Evangelist Billy Graham has died at the age of 99.

A spokesman says Graham died of natural causes at his home in Montreat, North Carolina.

The evangelist is reported to have persuaded more than 3 million people to commit their lives to Christianity in over 6 decades and his preaching was heard in 185 of the world’s 195 countries, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Graham avoided the scandals which dogged some contemporary televangelists through the decades.

Several U.S Presidents relied closely on his spiritual counsel. During his lifetime he met with every U.S President from Truman to Obama.

Trump Tweeted on Graham’s death: “The GREAT Billy Graham is dead. There was nobody like him! He will be missed by Christians and all religions. A very special man.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, tweeted that he was an example to generations of modern Christians.
