Speaking to THE WHISTLER, one of the corps members who simply gave her same as Aisha stated that though they usually get their allowance around the 28th of the month, they were hopeful that it will drop before Christmas Day.
She noted that the none payment has prevented some of them from travelling home to see their parents as they have planned.
“The pay comes 28th and some 30th of the month depending on the bank cause some banks delay the payment as well. Actually, we were expecting it early this month because of the celebration, some of us need to travel back to celebrate with our parent and even get new thing for the new year,” she said.
Also speaking, another corps member, Joseph, lamented that he was not in a festive mood as due to lack of money.
“We cant join in the festive mood because we don’t have money. We can’t even go out with our friends. I just hope the government resolves the delay soon,” he said.

“Let us remain united in our diversity and committed to building a stronger nation together. Nigeria is ours Nigeria we serve. Merry Christmas,” he posted.
However, the corps members while responding to his message wondered how they will enjoy the Christmas celebration with their monthly allowance.
