Boko Haram Ambushes, Kills 8 Soldiers, Injures 5

Terrorist group, Boko Haram has killed a Nigerian Army officer and seven soldiers after the insurgents ambushed a military patrol team in Borno state, according to a report by Premium Times.

A Boko Haram fighter was also killed during the attack.

The attack on 156 Task Force Battalion, which occurred on Tuesday at 1:00pm in Mainok about 60 kilometres west of Maiduguri left five soldiers wounded and two others still missing.

The report said the soldiers have recovered the bodies of their fallen colleagues and moved the wounded to a medical facility for treatment.

Two gun trucks and three anti-aircraft equipment could not be accounted for following the attack, although it was not immediately clear whether they were carted away by the insurgents or temporarily misplaced during exchange of fire.

The military is yet to react or comment on the attack.
