Bolaji Abdullahi Withdraws From Kwara PDP Governorship Race

Former National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has withdrawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Kwara.

The Cable reports that Abdullahi was pressured to step down.

“Yes, he was asked to step down, he has been put on pressure since yesterday,” a source was quoted as saying by the online news outfit.

The former minister joins seven PDP aspirants who have withdrawn from the exercise.

Ali Ahmad, Saka Isau, Ladi Hassan, Ibrahim Kaia, Abubakar Anani, Zakari Mohammed and Ahman Pategi are the others have withdrawn.

Only Razak Atunwa, a federal lawmaker from Kwara central, and Sha’aba Lafiagi, a senator representing Kwara north are the aspirants left in the race.

Kwara governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, thanked the aspirants who withdrew from the race, saying their decision to withdraw was in the interest of the party.

“I thank the state’s political leader, Dr Bukola Saraki for his wise counselling and purposeful leadership which have so far kept members of the PDP united in Kwara state,” he said.
