Borno Bomb Blast: Maina Urges Support For Buhari In Boko Haram Fight

The former chairman, Presidential Task Team on Pension Reform, Abdulrasheed Maina, has urged support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against Boko Haram while expressing sadness over the suicide attack on Biu community of Borno State which left about 30 dead and over 25 injured.

Maina in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mohammad Sabo, described the attack as inhuman, barbaric, unacceptable and an insult to Islamic ideals.

“Terrorism cannot be associated with Islam,” he stressed that, “Boko Haram members are not Muslims as Islam is a religion of peace as preached by the holy prophet, Mohammed (SAW).”

While condoling with the good families of the deceased, and of the injured, Maina emphasized that the war against insurgency has been won by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that, the only thing the president needs is the continued support and corporation of the various communities to sustain the victory.

He called on the people of Biu not to relent in the area of vigilance and scrutiny of suspected individuals and not be deterred by this attack.

The former PRTT boss charged the people to continue to give out meaningful information that could assist the military in the fight against insurgency in the country.
