Borno Youths Descend On Rescue Team As Bomb Attacks Deepen

Following Mondays suicide bomb attack on London Citi community of Maiduguri, Borno State, youths in the neighbourhood have reportedly descended on officials of the rescue team.

The youths, who were said to be angered by the increased rates of bomb attacks in the state, attacked officers of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) who came to the rescue of victims of the blast.

NAN reports that the youth, who were chanting “leave, we do not need your assistance,” allegedly smashed a vehicle brought to the scene by the rescue team.

The officials were said to have escaped only by the intervention of members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in the state.

Meanwhile no lesser than ten people have been reported dead and many injured as a result of the suicide blast.
