It is reported that Luciana was arrested at the scene of the crime and later charged with attempted homicide while her aging mother was moved to the intensive care unit of the hospital for better attention.

The police are also investigating if the alleged offender tried to tamper with her mother’s medication as they claim they found a syringe in one of her bags at the hospital.

“We have information on what motivated this criminal act being the daughter being tired of taking care of an elderly mother, who has several health problems.

“And according to what was passed on by the on-duty officer, this could have been one of the causes of this very serious criminal act against the mother, committed by her daughter.” Carlos Alessandro a local superintendent told reporters.

Reacting, the suspect claimed that she was in good terms with her mother, adding that her gesture was misjudged as she had “put her hand on her mother’s mouth with a different aim, that it had nothing to do with killing her.”

Meanwhile, the Judge presiding over the case, Janaina Araujo de Carvalho has directed that the suspect be kept in preventative prison while the suspects council are reportedly working to prove she has mental issues.
