BREAKING: Anambra Deputy Governor Dumps APGA For APC

Barely three weeks to the Anambra State gubernatorial election, the Deputy Governor of the state, Nkem Okeke, has defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The deputy-governor was received into the APC by President Muhammadu Buhari, the party’s Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

Okeke is expected to join forces with APC flag bearer for the November 6 polls, Senator Andy Uba, against Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the anointed candidate of his principal.

It is worthwhile to note that Okeke first served as Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning and as Commissioner for Works and Transport under the administration of former Governor Peter Obi.
