Against past speculations that the former Vice President could be arrested by authorities in America over his alleged involvement in a corruption scandal in the country, Atiku stayed for two days in the U.S where he met with government officials and some Nigerians.

He told the Nigerian community in the country that President Muhammadu Buhari has allegedly failed on the promises upon which he was voted into office in 2015.

The former Vice President described Buhari as lacking “sustained focus”, adding that the President has only succeeded in enriching his family members.

“I don’t think he’s capable of sustained focus,” Atiku said. “I don’t think he understands the system.

“Many of these promises were feasible if Buhari actually wanted to follow through on them. Instead, the only promises he has kept are the ones that put money in the pockets of his relatives and his cronies,” said the PDP presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, during his stay in the U.S, Atiku participated in a business roundtable at the U.S Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C, where he discussed his plans to “Get Nigeria Working Again” if elected into office.
