BREAKING: Buhari Replaces NDDC MD Weeks After Withdrawing Board Nominees

President Muhammadu Buhari has replaced Joy Nunieh with Kemebradikumo Pondei as the acting Managing Director  of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

This came after Buhari approved the enlargement of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the NDDC at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

THE WHISTLER had earlier reported that the president withdrew the list of nominees into various positions at the NDCC after confirmation by the Senate.

Buhari had said in a letter to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, that the move was to allow the interim management to conclude its forensic auditing.

Meanwhile, the president increased the members of the IMC from three to five persons, including Cairo Ojougboh, Ag. Executive Director (Projects); Ibanga Bassey Etang, Ag. Executive Director (Finance and Administration); Caroline Nagbo (Member); and Cecilia Bukola Akintomide, OON, a former Vice President with African Development Bank, (Member).

The new NNDC MD, Pondei is a professor of medicine at the Niger Delta University, and former Provost, College of Health Sciences of the institution.
