BREAKING: Court Dismisses Suit Against Akeredolu’s Victory

Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the verdict on Wednesday.

Anifowese’s counsel, Adesina Oke, had argued that the APC primary election of July 20, 2020 which produced Akeredolu was marred with anomalies.

But Akeredolu’s lawyer, Akin Olujimi, had urged the court to dismiss the suit for being out of time.

In his judgement, Inyang stated that the constitutional provision for such suit was within 14 days after the election.

“This suit was not instituted against the person of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu within 14 days as provided by the constitution.

“I make an order dismissing this case for being statute barred,” he added.
