Court Orders Immigration To Release Peter Odili’s Passport

A Federal Hight Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Nigeria Immigration Service to release the international passport of former Rivers State Governor, Peter Odili, with immediate effect.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who presided over the court sitting, also ordered the immigration service to apologize to Odili for seizing his passport with no legal justification.

The court also ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to remove the former governor’s name from its watchlist.

Justice Ekwo further retrained the NIS from harassing Odili or blocking him from travelling outside Nigeria or moving freely within the country.
