BREAKING: Court Remands Ex-SGF Babachir Lawal In EFCC Custody

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has remanded the former Secretary-General to the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Justice Jude Okeke of the high court, on Tuesday, ordered that he be kept in the custody of the anti-graft agency pending the ruling of the court on his bail application.

Babachir had earlier pleaded not guilty to a 10 count charge of fraudulent diversion of funds meant for the clearing of evasive plants on the North East.

Justice Okeke ruled that his bail application would be heard on Wednesday, February 13.
