BREAKING: EFCC Raids Ex-DSS DG’s Home

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have raided the residence of a former Director-General of the Department Security Service (DSS), Ita Ekpeyong.

According to Premium Times, the officers arrived Ekpeyong’s home just before noon on Thursday.

Recall that Ekpeyong emerged DG of DSS in 2010 and was replaced by Lawal Daura in 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari took over office.

The anti-graft agency had accused Ekpeyong of alleged involvement in the arms purchase scandal.

In November 2017, an attempt was made to search Ekpeyong’s house, but Daura prevented it.

Recall also that barely two days ago, Daura was sacked as DG of the agency by acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
