BREAKING: #EndSARS: FG Directs All MDAs To Activate ‘Two-Factor’ After Hacking Of NBC Twitter

The Nigerian government is taking immediate steps to secure all its social media platforms from world renowned hacker group ‘Anonymous’.

This comes as the official IT service provider of the federal government, Galaxy Backbone, has directed all Ministries, Agencies and Departments (MDAs) of government to activate two-step verification on all their twitter accounts.

The directive came after ‘Anonymous’ had hacked the official Twitter account of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and used the same account to announce that it had taken over all twitter accounts of the federal government.

Galaxy Backbone, in a post retweeted by the Presidency on Friday, said: “All MDAs of FG who have Twitter accounts are advised to activate Two-Factor Authentication on their accounts without further delay. Below is how to:

  1. Go to “settings & privacy”
  2. Go to “account”
  3. Select “security”
  4. Select Two-factor authentication
  5. Select “text message”

THE WHISTLER reported earlier that the hacker group had on Friday threatened to “expose secrets and dirty files” of the federal government over its alleged failure to end police brutality in the country.
