BREAKING: Ex Egyptian President Mubarak Dies At 91

Former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak is dead. He died at the age of 91.

Mubarak was reported to have died in a military hospital.

An Egyptian state news confirmed his death on Tuesday.

Mubarak, who underwent surgery in late January, was ousted in a 2011 uprising that swept across the country, after spending three decades in office.

He was found guilty of complicity in the killing of protesters during the 2011 revolution. That conviction was overturned and was he freed in March 2017.

His son, Alaa Mubarak had said on Saturday that his father was in an intensive care unit.

Mubarak, who was born in 1928 entered into the airforce as a teenager and later went on to play a key role in the 1973 Arab – Isreali war.

Less than a decade after he became president after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat.

His reign was reportedly characterised by high unemployment, corruption and poverty despite the billion of dollars of military aid his government received.
