BREAKING: Ex-Gov Jonah Jang Released From Prison

Former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, has been granted bail after spending over one week in Jos prison.

Jang, who is the current Senator representing Plateau North in the Senate, was remanded in prison after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned him before a Federal High Court in Jos over an alleged diversion of N6.3 billion while he was governor of the state.

THE WHISTLER reported that loyalists of the former governor picketed the High Court in Jos last week, alleging witch-hunt by the Federal Government because the senator intends to contest for president in 2019.

“Jang’s detention is simply a witch-hunt to derail his plans to contest the 2019 presidential elections,” the loyalists who identified themselves as the Jang Support Group had said through their spokesperson.

The Jos Federal High Court granted Senator Jang bail of N100 million accompanied with some conditions.
