BREAKING: Netanyahu Ousted As Parliament Appoints Bennett Israel’s Prime Minister

The Supreme Parliament of Israel (Knesset) has appointed Naftali Bennett as the new prime minister of the country, thereby ending the twelve year reign of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Times of Israel reports that the coalition government formed by Benneth and others was approved with 60 lawmakers voting in favour, while 59 others opposed it.

Recall that Israel’s Yamina party leader, Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid of Yesh Atid party and Ra’am political party (United Arab List) chairman, Mansour Abbas, as well as five other party factions, had signed an agreement to form a new government and had notified the parliament.

Prior to the voting, Benneth appreciated Netanyahu for his years of service while vowing to work for the state of Israel.

On his part, Netanyahu pledged to work in the opposition and ensure his return to power.

Based on agreement, Bennett will rule for two years while handing over to the alternate Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lapid.

His cabinet members are made up of 27 persons.
