–Hopeful Of Consensus Victory
Nigeria’s Former Finance Minister and renowned Economist, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has lauded the respective members of the World Trade Organization who made her secure the largest votes ahead of the race for the position of the Director General.
In a tweet of Thursday, she stressed that she was hopeful of a positive outcome, irrespective of any barrier.

“Happy for the success & continued progress of our @wto DG bid. Very humbled to be declared the candidate with the largest, broadest support among members & most likely to attract consensus.
“We move on to the next step on Nov 9, despite hiccups. We’re keeping the positivity going!,” she said.
The federal government had urged Nigerians to be patient until the final WTO process were concluded.
