This is coming days after THE WHISTLER reported that he was making plans to join the Labour Party to forge ahead with his ambition.

Obi said he had engaged in wide consultations after resigning from PDP.

He had stated in his resignation letter dated May 24, 2022, and addressed to Iyorchia Ayu, National Chairman of the PDP, that recent developments in the party did not support his continued membership.

After leaving PDP, there were rumours that he was going to join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

But Obi disclosed in his Twitter post that he had done the best consultation to ensure that there is no complications “on the route to our desired destination.”

He stated, “This project is yours and for the future of your children. I am just a facilitator.

“For me, the process of achieving our goal is as fundamental as what one will do thereafter.

“Therefore, I have chosen a route that I consider to be in line with our aspirations and my mantra of taking the country from consumption to production; and that is the Labour Party which is synonymous with the people, workers, development, production, securing and uniting Nigerians as one family.”

He thanked all Nigerians, especially the youths who have joined “me in the mission of taking back and reuniting Nigeria.”
