BREAKING: Plateau Assembly Impeaches Speaker

The Plateau State House of Assembly have impeached their speaker, Rt Hon.Peter Ajang Azi.

Lawmakers who impeached him during Wednesday’s plenary, immediately elected Joshua Madaki as their new Speaker.

Hon. Henry Yunkwap, the Majority Leader and member representing Shendam Constituency was also impeached by the house. He was replaced with Nanlong Daniel, the lawmaker representing Mikang constituency.

The Impeachment motion was moved by member representing Barkin Ladi Constituency, Hon. Peter Gyendeng, and was endorsed by over 2/3 majority of House.
