BREAKING: Rep Member Bags One Month In Prison For ‘Lying’

A member of the House of Representatives, Victor Mela, (representing Billiri/Balanga federal constituency, Gombe state) has been sentenced by court to one month in prison for lying under oath.

He was sentenced for perjury by a Magistrate court, Wuse Zone 6, in Abuja but was given an option of fine.

He was said to have lied while filling the CD001 Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form before the 2019 elections, Premium Times reports.

Checks on the House of Reps website showed that the lawmaker belongs to the All Progressive Congress ( APC) .

He has played a role in proposing the following bills: Compulsory, Free Universal Basic Education (Establishment) Act (Ammendment) Bill, 2019, Federal Medical Centre, Billiri, Gombe State (Establishment) Bill, 2020, National Fire Administration (Establishment) Bill, 2019.
