BREAKING: Senator Buruji Kashamu Dies Of COVID-19

The immediate past senator representing Ogun East in Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, has died from complications related to coronavirus (COVID-19) at the First Cardiology Consultants in Lagos State.

Buruji, who represented the senatorial district in the 8th National Assembly, was 62 years old. 

His death was confirmed in a Facebook post by his former colleague, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce. 

Murray-Bruce wrote: “‪I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss.‬”

Kashamu was the vice-chairman n of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government in the 8th Senate.

He was the Ogun governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general election.
